Children's Museum of Indianapolis

I can not begin to tell you how amazing this museum is . . . hands on for the kids but interesting enough for the adults. A bit of the Field Museum, MOS&I, and the Children's Museum all rolled into one. Children's Museum of Indianapolis. Really great and I wouldn't hesitate to make the drive for this again. Here's an overview of what we saw.
Hayden in a Little Yellow Submarine.
Crazy driver! !
Tim and Jaxson checking out the trains. Uncle Bob you would of LOVED this exibit... tons of model trains from the past century.

Boys being goofy!
The dino exhibit was amazing! Real fossils and tons of info. Jax liked growling at them.
I see a Hayden fossil down there.

Someone was nice enough to take our family picture
Jax was in heaven! A water table that was just his height. It was a whole area just for kids 2-5 years old. He could of stayed there for hours himself.

Hayden and Jax were cooking us up some dinner.

Hayden was goofing around with the farming toys. I told him it was like real life FarmTown :D
Ha Ha Jax in a box :D LOL
The museum even had a Carousel of Dreams inside that Hayden rode. Jax was sleeping in his stroller.

A self portrait :D

This was the area that was designed for the kids 5-12 years old. Hayden could of stayed here for hours too :) Building areas, climbing areas, a larger water table/river. So many things he could touch and do.

There are two more areas we saw that day... but those will come in a little bit.

Indianapolis Zoo

Tim and I decided to take a short trip with the boys before summer ended. Indy is under 4 hours away and had a lot to offer with the kids. So we snagged a cheap hotel and headed east for the weekend.
The Indy Zoo is most like Lincoln Park in Chicago. Small and easy to cover in a day but had other things to offer like a roller coaster, train ride, carousel, and splash park. The kids seemed to really have a good time.
They had a great FREE dolphin show there. Jax loved the "ish" as he called them and Hayden liked when they jumped real high!

What a handsome guy I have here!
I'm only about 17 hands high... Hayden will pass me up in a year!
Jax and Tim are only this high
This is a Scottish Highland Cow that I thkn Jax had a crush on.
Here he is mooing through the fence.

There were all kinds of amazing large animals at this zoo, including Jax's favorite, the elephant.
He could of stood and watched them for hours. He kept waving and making elephant sounds at them.
The roller coaster was Hayden's favorite. It was a typical child-friendly coaster but the took you around 3 times; which made you feel you got your moneys worth. :) Can you see him in the middle? and yes that is me riding with him.

Tim took the boys on the carousel and of course Jax rode the elephant!
Hayden wanted something more manly.

This seal was either posing for pictures of sun bathing... we couldn't decide which. :)
The shark tank was the coolest!! Tim and I touched real sharks! Which by the way feel flat and slimy. We couldn't convince the older child to even come near the tank.
This was all on day one of the trip. After the zoo we headed to our hotel for some quality time with the pool :D

Couple

As a favor I'm taking pictures of John and Amanda's wedding coming up in a few short weeks. To practice I asked if I could take some "engagement" pictures of them. Just to get a feel for posing and to see if I could get John's eyes to stay open :) I can't tell you how much fun I had that morning. It really was the perfect high. The pictures didn't turn out too bad either, I thought. I did have some color issues and lens issues but better I work all these "issues" out now than on their wedding day.
Here are a few...

I would love to expand this little hobby of mine. So anyone interested in being my testers let me know!

Wish me luck..

Playtime

Just another afternoon in the backyard with the boys. Hayden wasn't much into playing with us this day so I followed Jax around as he got wet then sandy then wet and sandy again. Let's just say it was a bath before dinner this day.
Playing with his water table.

I was scared to introduce the sandbox to Jax this summer but he had really enjoyed it and has not eaten to much sand.
