Jaxson's fieldtrip
His class took a small field trip to a local petting zoo... it was a miserable day. He had to wear raincoats and we should of brought mittens. Brrr.
Here his is with two of his friends. Grace who just seems to love Jax... they held hands most of the trip.
And Xavier is another buddy of his. School was just the right thing for him this year. He had lots of fun and even learned a bit. I can't wait till next year for 3 year old preschool!!

Come one come all to the big top!!
There was a small circus in town last weekend so we decided to take in the show.
It was small, much smaller than Ringling Bros but it was still nice and the kids still got a huge kick out of seeing the action. Jaxson loved the elephants and kept asking when the jugglers were coming out and Hayden loved the death defying motorcycles in the cage and the tightrope walker.
It was a really fun night with friends :)

What a week!
Jaxson once again ended up at the doctors office... ear infection this time. Even the doctor looked at us and asked, "again?" Yup! We missed him :) So for the week of his birthday he sat in the house, miserable, and I worked out ways to get what I needed done for his party while confined to the house. Cleaning no problem but grocery shopping... not happening. So I found a 24 hour store and shopped at 9pm after work one night. Not ideal but it got the job done.
By Fri he was better but still cranky.. We went to Red Robin for dinner. (he wanted a song and a balloon) and then a game of bowling at Pinstripes. He cheered up by bowling.

The day of his party was also Hayden's belt test for karate, I didn't plan that well did I? Hayden achieved his Red W/Brown stripe belt with flying colors!!! We are very very proud of him!!!
Jaxson had a great time at his birthday!

And we had a RECORD blizzard on Tuesday into Wednesday this past week. 20.2 inches!!! It was so windy it was ratteling the windows on the back of the house. We have 4 foot snow drifts all around the house and you still can't see the front porch and now today we have -6° with -20°wind chills. Which means no work or school for 2 days and 2 children who are very sick of being in this house with a now, thanks to Jax, a sick Mommy.
Looking out our front window... yes, drifts were that high!
Jaxson standing on our front porch... his head is as high as the doorbell...
Hayden wading through the drifts at the end of the driveway... he's 4'6" so you can see how deep those are.

As I said it's been a week.

Teaching Jax
Day with Nana
We started out our adventure to the River Walk in Naperville. It was a VERY hot day so we didn't walk far but would LOVE to visit again in the fall. It is just beautiful. Here's Nana and the boys checking out the view.
The boys.
From the River Walk we went to ChooChoo Johnny's. It's a cafe all about trains, so this day was more about Jax than Hayden but he still had fun.
and there were games to play so he was happy :)
Its really neat, your food order comes around on a train connected to the counter top. and they ring the bell every time it delivers.
and have model trains set up everywhere.
Jax checking out the scene.
and here comes our lunch :) Cute place but way to far to visit often.

My knight in shinning armor
Hanging at the Library
Jax and I have done a few library programs this summer along with Hayden and the summer reading program.
These were programs while Hayden was in camp to do something other than sit in the house and watch Mommy clean :) He's enjoyed some and been scared out of his mind with others.(see the puppets)
This was Music with Ms Jan
dancing with scarfs.

The puppets. I thought it was neat but Jax didn't like the 3ft tall puppets.... oh well.

We have one last program next week and that ends the summer reading program. We all went today and turned in the last of their sheets to collect their prizes. They got things as simple as crayons and temp tattoos to coupons for free meals at Chili's or free ice cream at Culver's. Its really been a great motivator for Hayden to keep reading this summer!

2 events in One!
On Father's Day we took Tim out for breakfast. I offered to cook but since we had a BBQ planed for later he chose to go to our favorite place.
After breakfast we went to the movies to see the new Toy Story 3. We all really liked the movie but none more than Jax! It was his first movie after all. He sat for the entire thing and barely moved!
munching popcorn and just enjoying the show.
We tired him out. He fell asleep on the way home and went straight down for a nap once we got there. Too much excitement.
Later that afternoon we had a BBQ with the grandparents...

KiD rOcK
Jaxson has been taking Kid Rock classes for a year now and he really enjoys it! He loves the music and the instruments and the teacher, Mr.Dave. Every session it's something new like shapes or like last session was colors. Here are a few pictures from class. Excuse the blur in some... it's a fast pace class and I had our old point and shoot. Didn't want to scare the other Mom's with my big camera and set up :)

The kids just love this parachute game. Bouncing balls or whatnot around and watching them fly off.
Getting a ride on the chute :)
The end of each color class is dancing with balloons... as you can see today's color was blue :)

Moving on up in the world.
A couple weeks ago we decided that it was time to move Jax to the toddler bed portion of his crib. I was nervous since he's our adventurer. I had visions of him playing in his toy box or closet at 1 am. But it was time to make this leap and trust him.
Checking out his new bed railing.

- We wanted to create a place where family and friends can visit and take a peek at our little family and get current updates on the boys. Just like home we want a cozy place to visit and relax with our loved ones.
