Another mess

This was one messy cookie...I'm not even sure how much he got in his mouth :)

Spring Soccer

Last 3 games of the season went off with only 1 rain delay. The kids really grew as a team and as players. I think it was 2 wins, 1 loss, and they really tried hard during that loss. Tim had a great team and a great season. So much so, he's decided to keep coaching next season in the older league.
Here's Hayden showing off that fancy footwork he learned.Kicking one in from the corner
Hayden, Cody and Noah. Now I know what your thinking... Hayden is a giant.... well these two just happen to be shorter than average. All 3 have known each other for a few years now.
Hayden and Coach Tim

Brookfield with friends

We hit Brookfield Zoo a few days after school let out with a bunch of the kids from Hayden's class and their families. It was a hot day but really fun.
Here are the boys planning our day around the map :)Jax not so sure about the giraffes.

Hayden and Cody getting a better look at the giraffes.
Jaxson's favorite of the day... he went nuts when he saw the elephant!!!
Hayden being Hayden :D

The leopard trying to take a nap in the shade
A group picture of the kids and they were all looking at the camera, success!!!
Hayden is THIS tall...

Our baby graduates. . .

Can you believe kindergarten year is over?? I know I can't. He's grown-up so much in 9 months... he's more independent and out going and opinionated. (That one we don't like so much) He's reading and doing math and colors a little better than last year. He's writing sentences, although not always 100% he's trying. Soon he will be 7 and in First grade, really???? :o
Here he is reading a poem about staying 6 years old with another girl from his class.Hayden getting his certificate from his teacher.
Hayden and his two good friends Cody and Noah, and Noah's little brother Isiah.
Hayden and his teacher Mrs. R. She turned out alright... after a very very rough start.
Nana and Hayden
Hayden with his good friend Kaylee (blue dress)
Grammy and Hayden
Tim, I, Hayden and Jax on graduation day.... one of a few to come :)

Music is in his blood

Jaxson rocking out on the keyboard one morning. Elmo was listening in picking up some pointers. What so funny is that he was so amazed when it made some sound :)

okay okay

I know it's been a month since the last post and the boys are bigger and doing so many new things... but when Mommy and Daddy take their first grown-up vacation on 9 years it involved a lot of planning, packing, and praying on my part :)

I PROMISE I will have some new pics and posts up soon. Just bear with me for a few more days... I'm not abandoning the blog at all just got busy with life :)

Teaching the young dog a new trick

Last night Hayden saw his friend across the street riding her bike, without training wheels. He gets it in his head that he wanted to start trying the learn to ride his bike without training wheels...right then. So we figured strike while he's willing. The first few tries were not so good but after a good 30 min he was really getting the hang of it. This afternoon we tried again but tempers were hot so the bike got parked. Well tonight after dinner he wanted to try again...much better today. He'd go about 15feet before freaking out or falling. He's funny too. He'll whine and complain that it's hard or he needs too much practice but the minute you tell him to park the bike its, "no Mom one more try." He needs to work on his steering as well. . .
As he said, "the bush jumped out at me!"
He's doing really great but there is more work to be done... and once he learns I promised him that we would tune up our bikes so we could all go for a ride and buy a trailer for Jax. Better get going on that :)

Cheese Jax

This is what happens when I pull out the camera now :)

Double Black!!

Hayden was awesome tonight!!! He tested for his Double Black belt. I still can't believe he's come so far from a tiny white belt at the age of 4.
Here he is getting in a good jump side kick in sparring.
Taking a punch to the head... needless to say he didn't win that match :)
Getting the new belt tied on by his favorite teacher, Mr. Flight.
Here is the man himself!

Helping the little guy out.

We're starting to let Jax color since he loves to watch his big brother. So last time I was at the store I bought toddler crayons. Ya know the big chunky ones that are washable? :)
Jax just loved sitting and looking at all the colors.
Hayden decided to sit down and show Jax how to draw. One of the sweeter moments between brothers.
Right now Jax can make marks on the paper but I'm sure we'll soon see wonderful things out of him.

O-R-E-O

Jax's first Oreo cookie. It was messy but he ate every crumb!

School Sing

Hayden's school had a sing the other night. It was themed, We Americans. The school sang very well and it was a good production. Since I forgot my long lens I was only able to get one photo as they were lining up. Hayden sang with the kindergarten and the first graders.
That's him in the back row with the tan pants on. He didn't want to pose for any other photos with his friends. Oh well. . . there's always next year.

GoofBall!

Soccer

Last game was a great game! We played a team that was tough and skilled. We were holding our own till the very end and lost 2-1. So close. . .
The kids were disappointed but really seemed to enjoy themselves and get into the game. I think the parents did to with all our yelling and cheering.
We also got Hayden's 2009 soccer pictures back. Since Tim is coach he was allowed to get a coach's picture with Hayden. I think it turned out GREAT!
Here's the star! Spring 2009 Soccer.
We were given a break over Memorial Day weekend since the older leagues have to hold their tournaments. So next Saturday it's back to the game for only 3 weeks left.

Monsters of the Midway

or at least that is what the Hammerheads are becoming know as.
Last week we won 10-1. Tim had to enforce the slaughter rule after 6 goals.
This week we won 8-1, with slaughter rule again. There just seems to be no stopping the team this season. We really do have some big and talented kids on the team. Sometimes they need to be held back just so the other kids get a chance.

Hayden was excited that they won and that he was able to attend the game this week.

3rd Place!

Hayden had his karate tournement on Saturday. He was testing on Self-defense moves. We chose not to do sparring this time around, just to give his finger some more time to heal.
Here he is getting out of the choke hold.Ending the Bear hold
Getting his 3rd place card so he could pick up his trophy.
After he realized what he won he was weird but when he saw the trophy he was excited.
With Gram and Pa who take him to class sometimes once a week, while I'm working.
Nana and Hayden
Daddy, Mommy and Hayden. We are so proud of him!!

Next Top Model

My cousin Breana was in the local community college fashion show as a model this weekend. I had never been to a fashion show so we didn't know what to expect.
It was great! So much fun. The clothes were not bad at all. There were only a few outfits that left us wondering. Bre did so wonderful! The prettiest girl up there by far!!
