Hayden 6 years old

Hayden also had a doctor visit this week, his 6 year annual check-up.
Hayden weighs:
69lbs and is 49 inches tall or 4'1".
The doctor was concerned with his weight but as most of you have seen he's not chubby. Well his cheeks are but "top heavy" isn't a medical term :-) LOL
We just have to watch his juice intake...loads of empty calories in juice. And man does this boy love his juice :)
Other than that he's healthy and normal. We do need to work on the temper tantrums but that's been an ongoing process for awhile.
Keep him active is another goal but that isn't hard either.

9 months old

Jaxson has turned 9 months old...on the down side to 1 year. Just after Christmas we will be in birthday mode for our boy celebrating his happy little life and everything that has happened in the past year.

We had a doctor visit this month. He weighs:
19lbs. 8oz and is 29 1/2 inches tall. 50% for weight and 95% for height.
That totally explains why all his 6-9 month pants look like he's wearing capris :) But 12month pants just slide right down his hips.
The doctor said he is right on track. He passes objects from one had to another, his pincher grasp is much better than we thought, he's crawling but just hasn't found his forward gear yet :-) He rolls to where ever he wants to get. He can have table food now. Cheese, yogurt, ice cream, soft fruits and veggies and the all important Cheerios. :-)
He's also enjoying standing along things and starting to take steps along the couch. We still think he will walk before he crawls forward.
He's making all kinds of sounds... ma ma, mum mum, da da, and rah rah. We think the last one is from watching too much Chowder with Hayden. I'm still campaigning for ma ma first.
He's had all kinds of first this month. First vacation, first cracker, first pumpkin farm, first tooth :-) The other tooth is not far behind.
Lots more things to come, especially Halloween and Christmas.

Hammerheads -0, Tigersharks - 2

It was a freezing game where 1/3 of the team didn't show up. Tim said they tried their best and even had quite a few attempts at goal. The other teams defense was just really good.
One more game to go, and it's forecasted to be warm next weekend... whew!

Rock out Family

Hayden received a Rockin Guitar Hero for his birthday from his Grammy and Pa. But as you can see the whole family is enjoying this gift.
Hayden trying his best to rock on!Even Jaxson got in on family music night when Hayden brought out his drum set.

Houston we have a tooth!

We just felt it this morning during breakfast. FINALLY! We were wondering why he was so violent about biting down last night... he was trying to break it through.
As you can see he is very proud of his accomplishment :-)

Hayden's Birthday

Hayden turned 6 on Thursday, can you believe it? It was a school day but luckily Tim was home still on vacation. We gave him our present in the morning.
What every 6 year old, who sees other kids playing with one, wants...
a Nintendo DS.
As you can see he was excited!!Showing off his new toy. We let him play all he wanted that day but have now set some rules. Timed play and such.
If he had his way he would play DS all day :-)
Birthday boy with his Mommie
Daddy and his boys.
My very first attempt at a birthday cake. I was fortunate that it was a round design. I can do round :) It didn't taste too bad either.
Happy Birthday Baby!

Road Trip

Well we arrived save and sound.

Let me just say 16 HOURS in a car with 2 kids, one of whom only slept an hour (the older one)
really tests the soul. The mountain roads really tested my dye job :)
Jax did great but we were all very tired.

Hammerheads 0 - Barracudas 3

Another good game this morning with lots of strong kicks and good saves. It just wasn't their day.
Last game for 2 weeks, since tournament for the older leagues is next week.

Hammerheads 0-2

Hayden's soccer game last week was a good one. Lots of good saves and teamwork. They didn't win but they worked as a team and did a good job.
Here's Hayden making his best attempt to make a goal.
It was a cold morning so the spectators were bundled up. Here's Jax enjoying the game.
Jax getting a better view and seat on Grammy's scooter.

Pumpkin Fest 2008

It was such a great afternoon, warm sunny and both the kids were in a good mood. Hayden's favorite event was the Kiddie Run. He ran a good race considering he had a soccer game that very morning. Here he is finishing the race.

Hayden and his race ribbon.
Jaxson and Hayden enjoying the park and the swings.

Hayden talked me into going on the hayride with him. It was fun for a 2mph ride around the park district grounds in a itchy hay filled trailer bed.
Hayden played artist with is pumpkin that he received for running. It was such a wet gooey mess we had to wrap it in a plastic bag just to get it home.
Me and Jaxson enjoying the pumpkin painting.

Jaxson - 8 Months

Is he really going to be one in a few months? I can't believe it!

I tried to weigh him but he's so wiggly now it's hard... but

19lbs 2 oz. and he's 28 1/4 inches tall.

He's eating all the fruits and veggies I can think of and just this weekend started meat. As I said before I wimped out and bought the meat from Gerber. He's also started chunkier food like banana and we tried rice puffs the other day but he didn't really know what to do with it so we'll try again later.
Jax is starting to talk up a storm... lots of sounds and babbling. No real word(s) yet but we swear he can say Mom and Dada.

Jax has also mastered the roll and backward scoot. He's not crawling but he can get where he wants to go. :-) And just this week we noticed him getting up on his knees and starting to rock. I'd say he'll be crawling... just in time for vacation; great! Our little boy has started pulling himself up on things as well. My parents went to wake him up from his nap and found him standing in his crib. Yikes!

Jax and I started storytime at the library for something to do. It's at a really bad time right now but after Halloween it will be while Hayden is in school Finally something Jax and I can do together.

After months of promising we still have no teeth. There are defiantly 2 under the surface on the bottom front but nothing but white bumps still. Darn teeth!

Look for Halloween pictures coming next month of our little spider. :-)

0- 2 Hammerhead loss

It was a good loss though. . . Hayden's team is really trying and playing well. Hayden had some good ball handling and tried his best. The other team was just better.
Hayden and his good friend Noah. They've known each other for 3 years now.
Hayden and Coach Tim (aka Dad) LOL
Only 4 more games left in the season and I have a feeling that the season is about to get a lot colder. (they're forecasting 60` high on Sat :) Sweatshirt and leggings time :-)

It's Friday Night Football!

Last Friday we went to my cousin Greg's football game. He's on Varsity at Marion. He is the man when it comes to football. Not only is he as big as a house now but he rarely left the field... playing almost the entire game. That is him there on the end... #75
Greg is such a great kid... during the game he made time to come over and say "Hi" to one of his biggest fans.
Jax enjoyed hanging out with his Auntie Nancy and Uncle Bob.
Hayden got just as dirty and sweaty as Greg did while playing touch football with some kids behind the stands.

Marion won 28-7 and it was a great game. Thanks for inviting us Nanc, Bob and Greg!

Veggie # 6

BROCCOLI - Surprisingly this veg went over very well. His older brother won't touch them so we assumed we would have a struggle with Jax too.
He just loves them!

Meet the new member of our family . . .

tee hee hee...tee hee hee... (me giggling like a little kid with a new toy) :-)
Look for the new photos to appear soon once I figure the dang thing out. LOL

Real chunky banana

We let Jax try real banana the other day... as you can see by the look on his face that it didn't go over very well.Once we scooped up the banana and put it in his Munchkin feeder he was MUCH happier. :-)

Oh well we'll try again later.

Hammerheads- 5, Stingrays - 3

I know I have failed to mention Hayden's soccer season so far which doesn't mean it's been a stinker. (well it has but at 5 years old that's not the point) We've only played 3 games so far because of the flooding last week.
But this morning the Hammerheads came together as a team. They played well... everyone went in the correct direction, (for the most part) and seemed to have fun.
Even Hayden.
There were no temper tantrums to speak of and he was enjoying himself. Up until now we've had problems since Tim is the coach. Hayden feels his Daddy should let him play where 'he' wants to play.
Not the case, in this lifetime or the next.

But today our son even scored two goals!

Hopefully this is a turning point for this young team and more wins will follow because even at 5 years old they know winning is more fun. But the point is they acted like a team. Tim is finally getting the hang of this coaching thing. :-)
