the student becomes the teacher

Hayden has started letting Jaxson sit with him while he plays on the computer. It's kind of cute how he's showing him around the computer. By Jaxson's age Hayden was playing Star Wars Lego all by himself. :) I guess it's time to introduce Jax to the PC.

And away we go...........................

Strawberry Fields forever

"Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever."

Two years ago Hayden wanted a strawberry plant. I figured "why not?" So we bought a plant and got a whole whopping 2 berries that year. Last year we got about 5 berries. This year the plants seemed bigger and bigger they were. We started noticing flowers on the plant about the first week in May... dozens of them. Dozens upon dozens of them. We knew we were in for a good haul this year.

Not only have we had a good haul but so far we've filled 3 pint containers and the plant isn't done yet :)

Big beautiful, red, and sweet juicy strawberries. We've had them on french toast and ice cream... heck the boys eat them right out of the fridge.

This picture is just from this evening. Hayden counted 3 dozen strawberries. Its nice enjoying something we planted and waited so long to see rewards.

Moving on up in the world.

A couple weeks ago we decided that it was time to move Jax to the toddler bed portion of his crib. I was nervous since he's our adventurer. I had visions of him playing in his toy box or closet at 1 am. But it was time to make this leap and trust him. Checking out his new bed railing.

He enjoyed helping Tim take the railing down. Daddy's big helper.
Well here he is... in his new big boy bed (phase 1)He was pretty happy about it too.
Hayden getting in on some brother love :D
Daddy and his big boy
Mama and her boys. <3>I am happy to report that in the past 2 weeks Jaxson has done WONDERFUL!! He's not gotten out of his bed once. Surprised us all :) He really likes having this new railing and his new pillow. Guess he was ready way before we were.

My artist

Jaxson is my child who loves to color. Hayden likes to now... but not at 2yrs. Jaxson loves to paint and create. Here he is trying out the new finger paints Scott and Autumn gave him. He's still a bit of a wuss, hence the paint brush and not fingers :)
He concentrating so hard.

Hayden moves up in the world

PURPLE BELT!!!!!!!!

About a month before tournament Hayden completed the test for his purple belt. This time we had to go to another school and had to be evaluated by the owner Master Nelson and a panel of instructors and peers. He was very nervous about it but as he soon learned he had nothing to fear.

r

He did great!! And was very very proud of himself :)

Scott and Autumn Visit the Midwest

It was wonderful having Scott and Autumn home for a visit. They were here for only 5 days but we had a lot of fun in those 5 days :) The last night they were here we had a big Shrimp Boil to celebrate them being here and Mother's Day all in one. Lots of food and lots of wine.... it was a great time!Yes we ate 90% of that pile :D YUM YUM!
Scott had more fun playing with the boys. Wrestling, playing football, listening to Hayden explain one of his many Pokemon games, tickling Jax... you name it. He became a big kid with them. Makes me sad knowing how much fun he and the kids would have if we lived closer. It was also his first time meeting Jaxson and I have to give Tim and I credit... we make sure the boys see pictures of family and out of town friends so they know of the people that love them... Jax went right to Scott and Autumn because he sees their picture everyday in our home.
Our required family shot. I think it turned out nice. Thanks Jo for taking it!

Man have we aged in this picture!!!

This was the best... before they left Jax needed to go to bed so Scott wanted to read him a bedtime story. Jax just loved it and so did I.

Farmer Jax

I've been trying to practice my portraits recently so I used my ever so willing subject Mr.Jax. I took him to a local preserve that I knew had a farm but I didn't know how wonderful a backdrop it would make.
Jax was so cooperative and willing and that helped A LOT!! I also am playing around with what they call 'actions' in Photoshop. It's basically different ways to process a photo. I'm really liking some of them. So without further adieu... here's FARMER JAX!

He is the Champion my friends...

So not sure where to begin I'm picking something and posting about it because I was told I am not allowed to get too far behind again :D (Hi Aunt Mar!)

So Hayden had his spring tournament on Mother's Day weekend. Some how he insanely got signed up for 3 events but surprise surprise he WON two FIRST places and one THIRD!! WOOT WOOT!

You can see he competing in sparring which he won his third place in. In the picture he's the one on the Right.
He competed in self-defence and won first. I wish you could of heard him yell. It startled the whole crowd and the judges :)
And then he competed in his Kata: Genesis. He's very good at that. Another first place here too. I think the other kids were getting annoyed that he kept winning but he really worked so hard this season. He would attend 3 times a week most weeks. He really put in the time and effort.

Also you can see Pa and Jax were really paying attention...

We were so proud of him and I think he was finally proud of himself too. In one picture we got you can see the surprised look on his face.

And onto the next one...

I went MIA on my blog, again. I'm sorry. I have just been so busy with taking pictures, family coming into town and me getting ready to go out of town I just haven't had the desk time to sit down and post.
That will be my weekend goal is to get some news up here ASAP, and new we do have!
