Cheese Jax

This is what happens when I pull out the camera now :)

Double Black!!

Hayden was awesome tonight!!! He tested for his Double Black belt. I still can't believe he's come so far from a tiny white belt at the age of 4.
Here he is getting in a good jump side kick in sparring.
Taking a punch to the head... needless to say he didn't win that match :)
Getting the new belt tied on by his favorite teacher, Mr. Flight.
Here is the man himself!

Helping the little guy out.

We're starting to let Jax color since he loves to watch his big brother. So last time I was at the store I bought toddler crayons. Ya know the big chunky ones that are washable? :)
Jax just loved sitting and looking at all the colors.
Hayden decided to sit down and show Jax how to draw. One of the sweeter moments between brothers.
Right now Jax can make marks on the paper but I'm sure we'll soon see wonderful things out of him.

O-R-E-O

Jax's first Oreo cookie. It was messy but he ate every crumb!

School Sing

Hayden's school had a sing the other night. It was themed, We Americans. The school sang very well and it was a good production. Since I forgot my long lens I was only able to get one photo as they were lining up. Hayden sang with the kindergarten and the first graders.
That's him in the back row with the tan pants on. He didn't want to pose for any other photos with his friends. Oh well. . . there's always next year.

GoofBall!

Soccer

Last game was a great game! We played a team that was tough and skilled. We were holding our own till the very end and lost 2-1. So close. . .
The kids were disappointed but really seemed to enjoy themselves and get into the game. I think the parents did to with all our yelling and cheering.
We also got Hayden's 2009 soccer pictures back. Since Tim is coach he was allowed to get a coach's picture with Hayden. I think it turned out GREAT!
Here's the star! Spring 2009 Soccer.
We were given a break over Memorial Day weekend since the older leagues have to hold their tournaments. So next Saturday it's back to the game for only 3 weeks left.

Monsters of the Midway

or at least that is what the Hammerheads are becoming know as.
Last week we won 10-1. Tim had to enforce the slaughter rule after 6 goals.
This week we won 8-1, with slaughter rule again. There just seems to be no stopping the team this season. We really do have some big and talented kids on the team. Sometimes they need to be held back just so the other kids get a chance.

Hayden was excited that they won and that he was able to attend the game this week.

3rd Place!

Hayden had his karate tournement on Saturday. He was testing on Self-defense moves. We chose not to do sparring this time around, just to give his finger some more time to heal.
Here he is getting out of the choke hold.Ending the Bear hold
Getting his 3rd place card so he could pick up his trophy.
After he realized what he won he was weird but when he saw the trophy he was excited.
With Gram and Pa who take him to class sometimes once a week, while I'm working.
Nana and Hayden
Daddy, Mommy and Hayden. We are so proud of him!!

Next Top Model

My cousin Breana was in the local community college fashion show as a model this weekend. I had never been to a fashion show so we didn't know what to expect.
It was great! So much fun. The clothes were not bad at all. There were only a few outfits that left us wondering. Bre did so wonderful! The prettiest girl up there by far!!

And the oscar goes to...

Hayden's school play was GREAT! They performed The Three Billy Goats Gruff. I was surprised how all-out they went. Each child had a costume of some kind and they had a microphone, and music. Most of the school showed up for the performance as well.

Hayden did such a great job as the narrator. He spoke loudly and clearly and didn't stutter once!
He looked so handsome as well!

Tim and his new toy.

I think he would argue that it was a "toy." But he was sure excited when he brought this bad boy home :)

for your viewing pleasure . .

I'm slowly starting to incorporate the things I learned at the Nikon School Photography class I attended 2 weeks ago.
I understand some of the mechanics I just need to learn how my camera works better. That could be a whole other class :-D
So please bear with me as I will share some of my new images when I can.

:-*)

Spring Soccer

I've been meaning to post about soccer but things have been hectic around here.
Hayden is again on the Hammerheads with Tim leading the way. The team seems really put together this season. We have some strong returning players.
The first game was 2 weeks ago where the team won 4-1.
Last weekend we were defeated 4-3. These pictures were taken last weekend.

It looks like this weekend will be a wash for Hayden because he has this wonderful cold that is going around. (Not the swine flu don't worry.) Jax was nice enough to share it with Hayden and I. My Dad has also reported a sore throat and I'm sure Tim and my Mom are not far behind. Let's just hope they don't close Hayden's school like a few others in the area and that everyone feels better because karate tournament is next weekend!!
