Forget walking he's running now!!

Art project

We decided to let the boys paint Uncle Scott a birthday present since he became OLDER in January (hee hee) We laid a sheet out on the floor, set a canvas down with some paint and let the boys at it.
Jax of course wanted to know what paint tasted like but Mommy thought ahead and bought water paint that was non-toxic :)

The finished project...they really did it by themselves. Hayden and I added some glitter paint after he and Jax were done. That was one paint I didn't want Jax to eat :-)

Christmas day

Christmas Day was at John's house for the first time. It was nice to change things up a bit but since we were still all together it didn't matter where we were.

Terrible

Last night during dinner Tim noticed flashing lights on the walls in our living room. First thought was our neighbors next door. They are older and have had some health issues over the past year. Realizing they are safely at their winter home we rushed to the front door to see smoke billowing out of the house across the street's roof, from places there should be no holes.
There were 5 firetrucks on the street, 3 cops, and an ambulance. Good ole city employees!!

Luckily there was no one home and they got the dog out of the house. We never saw flames but every time they busted a window a new plume of smoke came out.

Our hearts were breaking for the woman that lives there. She such a nice lady.

We all watched for about an hour as it unfolded. As far as we could see there was no outside flames, which is a great thing and no damage to the front of her house (except the windows and door) which is an even better thing. All the restoration crews where there this morning so hopefully it really wasn't that bad. Just scary for a friend and made us check our smoke detectors once more and make sure everything was off before we headed to bed.

One thing that did stand out last night was the compassion of my oldest. While were were sitting there watching the firemen and trucks Hayden said to me, "this is sad Mom. Her house is wrecked." I reassured him that no one was hurt. Then he said, "Maybe we should call that show you watch and they can build her a new house.(Makeover Home Edition)" I thought it was sweet that he was thinking of something like that.

Down for the count

Well I went away for the weekend with a friend to relax and that's when it creeped up on me.... illness. I was down for about a week. Literally down, ask Tim I was useless. :-) Hayden unfortunately caught the cold as well and was ill for about 2-3 days. Now we have coughing duets in the evenings but we are both doing a lot better.

I will be back to posting and adding pictures as soon as possible for we have a BIG event here this week.... hint* another Bear picture will be posted :)

I knew it would happen sooner or later.

I just didn't know it would go down this way.

The boys got into a fight... now before you think bad of Hayden know that he is the one that ended up with the bruise. :-)

I was folding sheets in the other room when I heard a scream. Thinking to myself, "what did you get into now Jax" I realized it wasn't his scream. It was Hayden.

I run into the room to see Hayden curled on the floor with Jax sitting next to him holding the remote.
Hayden starts screaming that Jax hit him. . . whacked him in the eye with the remote, to be exact. :-)
Once I applied ice to the red area I tried HARD not to laugh that the 11 month old beat up the 6 year old.
I know, it's only the beginning.

Tooth #4

His right upper front tooth came in this morning... thank goodness because yesterday he was c-r-a-b-b-y! So against my prediction his smile will not be lopsided, at least for now :) The Left fang looks like it might come in a very close 5th.

He did it!!!!!!!!!

He's been making attempts for the past 2 weeks but this is it! Purposeful forward motion!! :D
{{ this is me jumping up and down }}

I even had Tim get some of Hayden's shoes out of the attic when he was up there stowing away the xmas items. This is really it... our baby is walking and almost 1! Where did that little 7lb-er go?

Oh and to add to the walking Jaxson also got another tooth. His left front tooth. Hopefully he gets the right one before his 1 year photos or it will be a lopsided grin :-)

ahh food

The Christmas Shrimp Boil with my parents. YUM!(We missed you Scott & Autumn!! )

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with my parents and my Aunt, Uncle and cousin. (Breana was still in FL at Disney so she missed xmas but we can't wait to see her in a few weeks!) It's a really nice evening. Relaxing and comfy. Here's Jaxson with Aunt Nancy.
Checking out Pa's Christmas train. He wanted to grab the train so badly :)
Greg and Jax checking out the train. Greg was the human shield to protect the train.Opening gifts. The kids got such wonderful things but Jax loved the paper the best :D

Uncle Bob assisting Hayden with his Ben 10 watch and as Bob said, "Who's Ben 10?"Pa reading Twas the night before Christmas to the boys.
The family, well us and my parents. My Aunt and Uncle left early because they were hosting dinner the next day for 30 people and my Uncle had been at work since 2 am that morning and was exhausted. We forgot to get the group picture before they left. Maybe we'll get one of everyone at Jaxson's birthday party... hmm good idea :)
This was that night. The kids setting cookies and carrots out for Santa. Hayden had to protect Santa's snack from Jaxson who wanted it for himself.
Leaving the Santa key in the door so Santa could get in. We don't have a fireplace so this is easier for the big guy. :D

My baking team.

As most of you know I'm nuts. I make 15 or so different kinds of cookies a year but the one kind that Hayden and Tim always help with are the sugar cookies. It's become a family project. Jax even participated some until it was nap time.
I collect decorations all year just for these cookies
These are Tim's since there's not 5 pound of decorations on them :D
Hayden proud of his work and asking can I have one yet?
My top notch baking team.
A sample work. The cookie tray for my work. Whew! Done for another year... although I'm thinking Valentine cookies may be a great idea this year :)
