Jaxson's Baptisim

Better late than never since it was a month ago.
It was a wonderful evening! The service was wonderful and performed by a family friend. So much more personal than Hayden's was. Jax was a good baby. He never even flinched while being blessed.

His Godparents are our good friends Sharon and Nate. We've known Sharon longer than Tim and I have been dating and we're godparents to her two girls. Nate is Tim's good friend from college. I got to know him well since he lived next door to Tim :) We are really happy they agreed to be part of Jax's life.

Our family on the big day. Hayden was very well behaved if not bored through the service. It was hard for him to understand that is was Jaxson's day but he did really well :)

3 Months Old

Jax turned 3 months old on Monday. So many milestones reached...he is weighing almost 13lbs. (we don't know for sure since he doesn't go back to the doctor till next month.) He's laughing and I mean all out belly laughing, Smiling to get attention, having tummy time without crying, sometimes eating 8oz bottles, sleeping through the night from 8:30pm -6:30am. Ahhh sleep! Taking naps in his crib is a big deal as well. With all the running around with Hayden lots of nap time is spent in his carrier.
He has almost found his thumb, so right now he settles for his whole hand. He's learning that there's something attached to the end of his legs and he went up to size 1 diapers. Funny thing is Hayden went home from the hospital IN size 1 diapers :) He is just growing into this little man and his personality is really coming out.

A Milestone

Jax is finally coming around to the idea of "tummy time." A few weeks ago all he would do is cry and scream. The infant's version of a temper tantrum :)
Last week he seemed to actually enjoy being on his tummy for a bit and started to really hold his head up.
Don't get me wrong, he's very strong and can sit with support and hold his head up, but those back muscles needed some work.

Hayden took the opportunity to get some brother time in.

Dolphin 4 Marlins 2....

Well, the team that Hayden is on won today. AND Hayden scored his first goal of the season...unfortunately it was for the other team. :)

On a side note, I forgot that soccer was to be played in all types of weather. It was 44 degrees, at game start and it felt like it was only getting colder. I'm still thawing out.

A fuzzy little friend...

Most of you know my absurd infatuation with squirrels, more commonly known in these parts as "tree rats."
I know they can be a pain and cause havoc in most backyards but my heart just melts when I see one bounce across the backyard with their bushy tails. Okay enough of that...

Tuesday night Tim comes home from work, comes in the house, then returns to his car for something and see this little bitty thing sprawled on the driveway.

He knew it wasn't there a minute ago so he knew the mom must not be far. I move the baby off the driveway to our flowerbed, just for safety and comfort reasons. He was chirping so loudly for Mom and was shaking. Soon after these pictures were taken he crawled off the towel and under a tulip to hide. I did my best to find help for the little guy. There are no rescue centers open in the evening that could help. So I left messages at some places and searched the Internet. All information said to wrap the baby in a blanket and put it in a box on a heating pad. Well I love these little critters but not enough to bring him inside the house where my children are and get stuck with him. My head knew better but my heart didn't.
So against my heart I left him outside hoping his Mom would find him before something else did, but not before putting a clean extra baby blanket near him so he could curl up if he got cold.

Tim and I checked in the morning and the little guy was gone. I'm going to be very optimistic and naive and hope that the Mom found him that night and not the local kitty cat. I hope we did the right thing.

*On a side note, thank goodness I didn't bring it inside because not a single rescue center called me back so I would of gotten stuck with the lil guy. How's that for caring for the animal kingdom? *

Some random Photos from the last week

Juat a happy smilely baby :)

Oie! What a night!

Hayden won an Applebee's gift card at the basketball game last week and on Sunday exclaimed he wanted to take us out to dinner "on him." Once at the restaurant we told him since he was paying he could have anything he wanted and then he leaned over and said, "You too Mom. I'm buying." Where does this kid come up with these things?

An evening outside enjoying the nice weather.

My loves, my boys....

Go Dolphins!

Hayden started soccer last weekend and had their first game. They lost 7-1 but still got dirty and muddy and had a ball! (no pun intended)

That's Hayden there in the middle #8. His games are on Saturday monrings if anyone is interested just give us a call.

"I felt the Earth Move under my feet..."

and the only reason I even felt it was, ironically, from a call from one of the techs that I am working with in CA woke me up to report in a problem.
Since I was up and time was close for me to get up for work anyway, I decided to sit in the den to catch up on e-mail that I haven't read in awhile and I felt a pulsing type of shaking. At first I thought that it was a truck that rumbled by or a low flying airplane, but re-thought those two, once the Star Wars plates that are on the wall started shaking as well. Not too mention that the cat was jumping in circles looking at the ground like it was going to swallow him up. It was quite funny. I didn't realize that an earthquake had happened until I was in my car on my way to work and all of the radio stations started talking about it.

Well...that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

And so it begins...

Tim picked up Hayden's sparring gear on Saturday and they promptly had to come home and try it all on, including the cup. . . LOL Thanks to Auntie Autumn and Uncle Scott for the equipment and extending Hayden's karate career.
And here's our future karate master.

Is it that time already?

I start back to work tonight. I knew it would come sooner or later and that the time home would fly. But has it really been 12 weeks already?
I'm only going back 1 night a week right now. More for me to talk to adults than the $ right now.

It will be nice to go back and see my co-workers and patients but I am going to miss my babies...

We did what?

Tim and I have sprouted a few more gray hairs this week...
we registered Hayden for Kindergarten.

AHHHHHH!!

I know he's ready but are we?

Spring is in the air

I can say that Spring is finally here since the temperature finally reached 60° today. We ventured outside today to enjoy the fresh air along with the rest of the neighborhood. Jaxson enjoyed his first ever ride in the swing. Then he realized that it was bright outside and promptly shut his eyes and slept for 2 hours . Hayden needed his swing raised. This boy's legs are getting too long... we can't keep up.
Jaxson was bundled up for the weather but it didn't seem to interrupt his nap.
Hayden finally had a chance to use his Christmas present (Thanks Whalen's!) He was so excited to "batter-up!" He and Tim played in the backyard for a better part of the afternoon. I did get to coax him out front to try out his new bike but forgot to take pictures of that. Oops!
It was nice to step outside after a very long, cold and snowy winter. I'm sure it is only the first of many more to come.

Good Morning

Karate Master

Hayden tested and earned his double blue belt last Tuesday. He was very excited because he can now compete as a double blue at the tournament in May. A very big deal I've been told.
We are very proud that he's earned 9 belts so far and in a few weeks will start sparring as it is required by the time he reaches red belt.

Be still this mother's heart for we are allowing him to hit things!! :)

The tournament is on May 10, 2008. His Ring time is 9am for all that are interested. $5 admission to get in. Just e-mail me for the location.

Are they brothers, or what?

The resemblance is uncanny.
