Just a pretty photo before they die

Changed it up

This year we went for an Easter Brunch instead of dinner. It worked better for Amanda and John with her family's celebration in the afternoon. I have to say I think I liked it better. It was easier to prep for and cook since I assembled everything the evening before and it was cheaper. 4 dozen eggs was MUCH cheaper than a huge ham or turkey. Just a nicer feel for the morning. The other plus side was everyone was done and gone by 3pm so we all still had the rest of our evening to relax and get the kids ready for the week.
Went all in this year with the china and everything. Its good for the good dishes to see the light of day once in awhile.

Hayden and his air rockets...outside toys for sure!
Jax and his love of Toy Story... can't wait for the new movie to come out.
Family at Easter... and yes Hayden is standing on a chair but I don't think it will be too long before this is reality.
Grammy and Pa (or PaPa as Jax has been calling him)
Nana & boys. Jax was WAY WAY past nap time by this point, thus the stoned look on his face.

The Hunt is on...

Jax really understood what needed to be done this year, but that didn't stop big brother from helping him :)
Jax checking out what Hayden got in his basket
New Tub Toys!!! Woot!
Hayden checking out all the wonderful tings the rabbit left for him this year and counting his chocolate :)
Jaxson showing off his chocolate :-)
Some cuteness before the sugar highs hit... and let me say they did.

Snake Charmer

They had face painting at a birthday party we went to the Sat before Easter. Now mind you... my kid hates things on his face and has never let anyone paint his face. When he was a baseball player for Halloween years ago he wouldn't even let me put the antiglare marks on his face.
He jumps out at me with THIS on his face.

Cleaning the floor

Not usually something I post about or even talk about but I read this grout cleaning remedy in another blog I read and thought I would give it a try.
When we remodeled I wanted a white bathroom. White tile, white tub/toilet, and white cabinets with the whole Swedish yellow and blue combo....Why didn't someone smack me in the head!?!?!? That is the worst possible color with 2 kids and with my dark hair. I'm constantly cleaning this floor and tile. It's horrible! I would do everything differently if I had the chance. Anyway...
I read about using vinegar to clean grout without being abrasive on the grout itself. I thought I would try it out since our grout was turning yellow with dirt and age.
Gross I know.

It's basicly 2 parts vinegar to 1 part water and use a stiff brush. Now I don't know if the act of scrubbing or the magic mixture of the vinegar did the job, but I was nicely surprised at the results.
Fortunately enough for me, my bathroom floor is small because my arms hurt for 2 days after this cleaning. :-)

Color them Eggs!

We took advantage of a rare 75° day in Chicago and colored our eggs outside. Plus the thought of the patio getting dyed red didn't scare me as much as the thought of my carpet a nice pink. Jax was actually very good though. He dropped the eggs in a bit more forcefully than we would of liked but it made the egg salad later a pretty color :-)
Hayden is an ole pro at this activity.
Rare photo, both looking the same direction AND smiling

The family and our eggs.
While waiting for the eggs to dye and dry we had races in the backyard and basketball contests, with a soccer ball of course :)
This kept the boys from asking every 2 seconds if the eggs were ready.
When they finally were :)

Egg Dive

We missed the outdoor Easter Egg Hunt because of our little spring break getaway so I thought it would be nice to do the village egg dive. Hayden had a great time and came away with dozens of plastic eggs.

Here he is with his stash!
Jax on the other hand was a little confused with the whole process and a little bored. I was worried because they lumped together 5 and under in age groups. That mean A LOT of kids, parents, and little ones. I had to hang on for dear life to Jax as other parents pushed their way into the pool. It was not so great! I did manage to snag 5 eggs for Jax to open and play with.
And Hayden was nice enough to let him open some of his. We stayed to play in the pool for awhile after all the egg madness was done.

Spring Break water fun

We went to an area waterpark for some downtime before Hayden returned to school. Not too far from home. The boys had the best time!!! It was hard to take pictures in there with all the water even with out P&S I still didn't want it to get wet.Hayden showing off his beach muscles :)
And riding the Lazy River for the 100th time. He just loved floating the that circle.
Jax playing in the fountains. He had the best time! He's going to love the splash pad this year!
We had a great time and it was just long enough... although we were all pretty sick of eating out by this point in the week.

Discovery Muesum

We headed there as a start to our little weekend getaway. We've been here before with Hayden, when Jax was still compact and portable. (ie: in the belly) Hayden loved it last time so we thought it would be great.... well 1/2 the building was under construction and the outside play area was closed for the same reasons. Not that great but what was still set up the boys had fun and played for almost 2 hours.
Here they are in the toddler. Notice I said toddler area and who dressed up and ready to play? Yes, that would be the 7 yr old. :-)
Our UPS guy and pilot.
Working hard together to make sure those boxes are stacked properly. Man... Pa K would be proud!
Hayden having a quiet moment while Jax checks out the play"house"
No he's TERRIFIED of the vacuum at home but he played with this one forever.

All of our hands in the gigantic peg board.

The boys, and I mean all three, were playing with orbits and such. Jax loved it because the object flew off the spinning wheel and crashed!
The indoor tornado. Hayden loved chopping it to see it reform.

Jaxson was so confused by the air tubes. He didn't get how the ball stayed up there with nothing to hold it up.

Ahhh he found a wife. :)
Playing plane again...this time without costumes.
We had lunch at a town staple, The Machine Shed. Best sweet potato fries around. Boys wanted to play on the tractor before we left for our water park adventure.
