First Haircut

Jaxson was in desperate need of a haircut as you all saw in the previous post. So tonight I took him to visit Auntie Lorrie to trim him up :)
Here he is getting all ready. The "Blagojevich", as I called it, is slowly getting cut away. He sat very still and flirted with all the other ladies in the shop.
Looking around to see who was watching him.
All done and so handsome!! :-)
With his Auntie Lorrie. She cut Hayden's hair for his first cut and now Jax and she's the only one I'd trust to cut mine :)

Morning Entertainment

The joy I got this morning watching Jaxson realize that his finger could fit up his nose.

:-) Made me smile from ear to ear :-)

Indoor Soccer

Hayden Orange Team lost today but it was only 2-1. They did really well and are even learning to start passing. It's amazing what a difference a year makes.
Hayden even tried goalie today and did really well, when he was paying attention. :)

the Box

Hayden says, "Hey Jax that looks fun in there " "I think I'll come check it out . . . "
Jax says, " I'm outta here!"
"You stay in there Hayden!"
"Okay I guess I'll come in to."

Even though the car can't be played with because of the snow. . . the box sure is fun :-)

Changing

He will forever love Star Wars, like everyone little boy will. But lately its Pokemon more and more.

I think he needs a haircut, don't you?

and just to let you all know that hair is slicked with his lunch.... a new trick of his :D

What goes around , comes around

Hayden LOVED this toy as a kid and so does Jax

Just wanted to share a goofy picture of my boy.

I don't wanna wake up Ma!!!

Indoor Soccer

Hayden started Indoor soccer a few weeks ago. He seems to really enjoy it. Plus he has a lot of friends on his team from pre-school or kindergarten. He has gotten better since last Fall too.
The scores goes as follows.
1st game: 5-1 we won
2nd game: 4-2 we won
3rd game 3-3 tie.
So far so good.... but all that really matters is they have fun and burn off some energy.
Here's Hayden showing off some footwork. And here's our boy just showing off. :D

Our Smart Boy

I forgot to tell everyone that Hayden received his report card last week. We are proud to say he improved in 5 areas. In kindergarten they give 1,2, and 3's. He had no 3's, which is equivalent to "not preforming" and improved some of his 2's to 1's this quarter :)
We're so happy he's getting the hang of school. We still have days where he doesn't want to go but he always has a good time once he's there.
The teacher didn't even see a need for a conference this time, which is good and means he's finally behaving in class :) She tells me that he's in the highest reading group and she is giving him extra homework to keep him occupied.

That's our smart boy!

1 Year Old

1 year old, can you believe it? I know I can't. I still remember all the organizing and getting ready we did last year, like it was yesterday. The crazy weather when we brought him home... heck Hayden was still in preschool. Does that even see possible?

Anyway I wanted to wait till Jax's doctor appointment to post the bear picture.
He weighs 22lbs. 3 oz. and is 31 1/2 inches tall.
25% for weight and 95% for height. Tall and skinny like majority of the men in the family :-)
He has met or exceeded all of his developmental requirements. The doctor was impressed with is running and the few words I was able to get him to say. As of now he says,
Mama, Dada, Meow for the cat, Lamp, Nana (banana - sorry Jo) and he's getting the hang of Elmo. He can also sign milk, more, and please. We're working on thank you and a few others. It's just so much easier till he gets the hang of speech.
He had completely master the art of walking which has led to running and turning circles and dancing. Its really cute to see that diapered tush bop to the music. :)
He's eating lots more regular food. (i.e. not mashed/blended) I'm almost completely out of my freezer stash which is weird since I've been making him food for 9 months now. Now he's getting a bit of what we're eating. New foods we've tried this week are CAKE :) eggs, spaghetti, and raw broccoli. All of them were hits. Surprising since Hayden hates broccoli and eggs.
I felt bad at his check-up he received 4 shots and a finger prick for a lead test. Darn old house! He cried and cried this time. I think because they did the finger prick first he was well and worked up for the shots. I even cried this time because they had me hold him and it was like I was hurting him, although I know I wasn't. :( That's the sad part about being a Mommy.

Not many firsts this month, although he did get another tooth. He has 5 now with a 6th on it's way any day.

Keep checking in for there are more firsts to come and many new things for Jax to learn. :)

Party for the Baby Boy!

We had Jaxson's birthday party at the park district since it is winter and our house won't fit everyone. We rented the Fun Zone for the kids for an hour so they could blow off some energy and have a little fun.
Jax never crawled through it but he sure liked playing peek :)
The party. It was so nice that most everyone did make it. I was worried for awhile since I stupidly planned the party on SuperBowl Sunday. It would been a real mess if the Bears had made it... then we would of changed the party.
YUM food! We still have tons leftover, but I'd rather have food leftover than not enough for everyone :)

aunt Nancy and Breana...she's back north and already sick. Poor Bre
The cake. I chickened out and bought this one. Just too much else to do with the food and such.
Aunt Traci and Jax being goofballs as always ;)
Jax just sat there and smiled while everyone sang to him. It was just so darn cute!
Making a wish... still wouldn't blow out the candle. But as soon as I sat him in his booster seat he was blowing away. Next year!
Yes Mommy made him look like a dork for his party... the hat didn't last long anyway.
That's my boy!!! He finally learned how to eat his cake!
GG and Jax
Jax taking a little breather on Uncle Tom

The family
and at least I remembered one grandparent for the party but this was after we got home. I'll do better next year.

Well not a baby anymore, a toddler. {{sniff sniff}}

Jaxson's 1st Birthday
We went out to lunch at Jaxson's favorite french fry place, Red Robin and then walked the mall and let the boys play in the play area for awhile. Jaxson LOVED it there.
His balloon from Red Robin... we realized it was his very first balloon. He loves them!
It was the first time we let him out of the stroller to roam around. It's easier since he's walking now. He just loved the freedom to see everything and all the other people. Once he got used to it he enjoyed the slides as well.

Opening presents back at the house... it was rough on Hayden. He didn't quite understand why he didn't get anything. But he did help Jax open when he had trouble.
Jaxson's new ride... he's still a bit small for this yet but we figured by Spring he will be more than ready. Hayden had one and drove it into the ground.

That night the Grandparents came over to help us celebrate and I'm just now realizing that I didn't get any pictures of the grandparents and Jax... uh oh!
Elmo Live from Gram and Pa.
Vtech truck from Nana

His cake made by Mommy :)

Hayden helped with the candle too. Even after all our practice leaning to blow air when it came to actually blowing out the candle he wouldn't do it. Thank goodness Hayden is full of hot air.
Being neat and trying to eat the cake without getting his hands dirty.
Learned his lesson :-)
